Privacy policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

In short: what Areacast shows, records and films stays on your Mac. The app only goes online to check a license key once and, if you allow it, to look for updates. This website uses no cookies and no analytics.

Who we are

Areacast is made by Code Mountain (VAT BE0761429808), Belgium. Questions about privacy: bruno@codemountain.be.

Your screen, camera and microphone

macOS asks for each of these permissions the first time it's needed. You can change them any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

When the app goes online

Areacast has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and doesn't share data with anyone.

Buying a license

Licenses are sold by Gumroad, which handles the payment and taxes as the seller of record. Gumroad's privacy policy applies to the checkout. For each sale we receive the buyer's name, email address and country from Gumroad, which we use to provide the license and support, and keep as required for our accounting.

This website

areacast.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Like any web server, ours may briefly keep technical records of requests (such as your IP address and the time) to keep the site running and secure.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you (in practice, the purchase details from Gumroad), or object to its use. Email bruno@codemountain.be. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
